When you shop at convenience stores.
I would like to introduce how native speakers really speak with no textbooks here.
Staff : Hi, there. Should I put these in a bag?
(Do you need a bag?/What do you want to do about a bag?)
If you need a bag.
Yes, please.
Certainly.
If you don’t need a bag.
It’s okay. (No, thank you.)
If stuffs ask you if the meals should be warmed up.
Would you like to warm this up?
Yes, please.
If you want stuffs to warm up the meal but they don’t ask you.
Could you warm up the meal?
Certainly.
A staff would ask you if you need a plastic bag.
The way to ask is a bit different depending on a staff.
At stores in Japan, you should bring a shopping bag in order not to pay for a plastic bag and for economic.
②something(を)ください。
You can use ください when you want tp get something from others.
It can stand alone if both people talking know what you need.
例
[At a restaurant]
I’ll go for a glass of beer and Edamame.
Do you want some snacks?
Yes, please. Thank you.
= Certainly.
This is the polite version of わかりました。which is used in business situations when people have to be polite. We wouldn’t use this in daily conversations.
= I’m fine./that’s fine.
Everyone might have heard this phrase a lot. Japanese use this quite a lot and the way to use might be a bit different from your perspective. This isn’t actually the appropriate way to respond to 元気ですか? question. However, you can say this when people ask you 大丈夫ですか? to know your condition when you seem sick or different from usual. Also, people use this to politely decline someone’s suggestion or したいですか? questions like you see in the script above.
例
[At a restaurant]
After the meal, would you like some coffee?
No, that’s okay. Thank you, though.
[Daily Conversation]
Do you want to go somewhere tomorrow?
No, I don’t want. I’ll take a rest tomorrow.
お願いする is the dictionary form of this which is used when people make a request in polite way. You can use this when you make a request to someone reliable. There are another more polite way to do this which are お願いしてもいいですか? or お願いできますか?.
I’ll read this document by tomorrow.
Yes, please.
Can I ask you to have a presentation in the meeting next week?
I got it.
